On the 2nd of April to the 5th of April 2019, Sri KDU Secondary School held a Kindness Week with the theme ‘KDUnited Angels’ to promote kindness in the school. This event was organised by the Prefectorial Board in conjunction with #StandTogether. The purpose of this event is to create an empathetic environment around the school, promote a sense of unity between the students and teachers, and to prevent bullying from happening in the school. In order to promote kindness, the Prefectorial Board have hosted many activities involving kindness such as the Kindness Jar, Kindness Stall, a photo booth, the Wall of Kindness, the Guardian Angel project, a secret handshake activity, telematches of football and netball between both students and teachers, class photos and a Notice Board Competition in which every class from Form 1 to Form 5 participated. The telematches helped strengthen the bond between students and teachers. For the competition, every student decorates their class notice board using recycle materials and their own creativity. On the 5th of April 2019, Harith Iskander, who is known as "the Godfather of Stand-Up Comedy" in Malaysia, along with the representatives from UNICEF and MOE as well as the reporters and photographers from R.A.G.E. (The Star) decided to visit our school. During Harith Iskander’s talk, he shared some stories about his personal experiences with kindness and answered some interesting questions from the students. He taught us that even the smallest act of kindness could change someone's world and do what you love and love what you do to enjoy life. https://youtu.be/hqXwUflSdsg
