Story: "Darkness" by Rachelle (2W)

Darkness. That's all I can see. Where the heck am I? The throbbing in my head didn't feel like anything was severely wrong. It only felt as if thousands of knives were being thrust into my body. I tried to recall how I got here, but only to remember being cast out into the abyss before I blacked out. "This is probably another one of those nightmares again..." I said with a grunt.

"This is no nightmare..." replied a deep familiar voice. There was a silence. “What’s with that look? You remember me.. don’t you?” the threatening voice grew deeper as he spat those words like poison.

My heart sank.

No no no it can’t be! It can’t be him! I need to get out of here!

Just as I panicked, the darkness around me started to fade away. I was in a large, cavernous room; the only light was that of the sun, that pierced through the cracks in the rocks from somewhere high above. A throne was set in front of me and whoever's on it was the last person I wanted to see. He was none other than the villainous world dominator, Thanos. He had purple eyes and skin, dressed in his full armor and a big gauntlet on his left hand. Standing beside him was a group of monstrous creatures, they must be Thanos’ army, the Black Order.

"What do you want from me?" I demanded, trying to sound fearless as my face was as pale as bones.

Thanos' eyes glowed an eerie purple as he gazed upon me, a wide grin spread across his

cracked lips.

"You have something that belongs to me. Return it or die." his deep voice echoed through the dark room.

"I don't know what you are talking about and I don’t have what you want. Now let me go."

BANG!

Thanos smashed his fist against the wall. "You know what I want! Give me the stone!" his voice boomed.

The infinity stones? Why would Thanos think I’d have one? I have failed my every mission countless times and he thinks I possesses the most powerful stones in the whole universe?

“What makes you think I have one?” I finally said.

With a lift of his finger, Thanos cause his throne to levitate forward, his searing purple eyes

focus intently on me.

"You really don't like standing up do you?" I snorted.

Never in all my life I wished I could take back everything I just said as much as those words.

Before I could react, I took a punch from his big gauntlet that send me flying against the concrete wall. I groaned in pain as I wiped the blood off my mouth.

"Remember who you're talking to, Asgardian!" Thanos raised a warning finger. "You will deliver the Tesseract to me or die a torturous death."

"The Tesseract? That’s the infinity stone? Well I’m sorry for the bad news but that piece of junk is no longer in my possession!" I snapped.

"ENOUGH!" his eyes were ablaze with fury. "You will do as I command! One way or another, you will bring the Tesseract to me, or suffer the consequences..."
